The vision of SILC is inclusive and accessible communities that value diversity.

Mission

The mission of SILC is to promote the equality, inclusion, and choice for people with disabilities through collaboration and public policy change.

SILC Core Values

The SILC Board of Directors, Executive Director and Staff hold the following values and beliefs which guide their decision making, policy and practice on a daily basis.

We value equality, inclusion, personal choice, individual and collaborative achievement.

We believe:

  • Every person has potential, innate talents, and abilities.

  • In promoting the dignity, respect and inclusion of everyone.

  • In acknowledging, respecting, and celebrating the diversity of people.

  • Along with individuals with disabilities, Families can be effective advocates for adults and children with disabilities.

  • Every person has a fundamental right to make their own choices in all aspects of life.

  • Opportunity for independent living is essential to the well-being of people with disabilities.
